California Office of Traffic Safety Continues Partnership With Kings Encouraging Fans to “Go Safely”
Elk Grove, Calif. – The Sacramento Kings and California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) are renewing their commitment to the safety of fans getting to and from Golden 1 Center.
The partnership began last year and will continue through the 2019-20 season as a way to encourage fans to practice safe behaviors on the road as they arrive and leave downtown Sacramento.
During Kings home games and other Golden 1 Center events, the OTS will display a series of digital safety messages inside the arena and at the entrance facing Downtown Commons. The messages promote ways fans can “go safely” biking, walking and in the car. Fans with the Sacramento Kings + Golden 1 Center mobile app will also receive a push notification at the end of Kings games and G1C events reminding them to get home safely. Additional safety messages will be promoted on social media, along with KHTK radio (1140AM) before and after home games.
“OTS is a valued partner in our ongoing efforts to ensure Golden 1 Center guests are able to travel safely to and from the arena,” said Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart. “The continuation of our partnership is yet another example of how we provide fans with a seamless experience from start to finish.”
“The OTS is thrilled to continue our work with the Sacramento Kings to create a safety culture that places the highest priority on getting places safely,” OTS Barbara Rooney said. “A key part of the entertainment experience catching a Kings game, concert or show is heading to the arena and back home safely.”
In recognition of this traffic safety partnership, the Kings will be holding a Designated Driver VIP Sweepstakes allowing fans a chance to win four lower level tickets to the home finale against the Golden State Warriors. Transportation to and from the game will be provided by the Kings, along with merchandise for the winner and their guests.
